Nigerian Yoruba Beaded Talisman/Wall Hanging

$150.00

Diviner or king's belt from the Yoruba People of Benin Nigeria. Each color of bead is associated with a different empowering God (Orisha). The face is Oduduwa, the legendary first Yoruba ruler, but also represents royal ancestors who are said to watch over and protect all the royal lines. Triangles are meant to reflect sacred qualities. Birds are symbols of the mystical powers of women. Each of these belts are unique and no two are alike.
